The Critic Loop: AI Self-Correction

You write a draft. You edit it. You polish it. AI usually just "vomits" the first draft and stops.

But AI *can* edit itself. It just needs permission. This is called **Reflection**.

In this guide, we will use the **Critic Loop** to instantly improve quality by 50%.

1. The Blind Spot

When AI generates text, it doesn't look back. It just predicts forward. It doesn't know it made a mistake in paragraph 1 by the time it reaches paragraph 3.

2. The Two-Step Prompt

Don't settle for the first answer.

  • *Step 1:* "Write a short bio for a freelance designer."
  • *Step 2:* "Critique your own work. What is missing? What is cliché?"
  • *Step 3:* "Rewrite the bio incorporating these improvements."

3. The "Persona" Critique

Ask it to wear a specific hat.

  • *Prompt:* "Read this email as if you were a skeptical customer. What would annoy you? List 3 bullet points."

4. Visualizing the Loop

Look at the **Feedback Loop** on the right.

The linear path (Input -> Output) is fast but messy. The Loop forces the output back into the input. The visual shows the text getting "cleaner" with each revolution.
